I bought the clapper plus. It stopped working after a week. What a waste of money.

I recently moved into a new downtown apartment, and was proud of myself for ditching all of my accumulated bachelor furniture, and had purchased a nice bedroom set and decorations. One fateful night I met a girl of loose moral standards and brought her home under the auspices of playing guitar hero / foosball / hide the sausage. I also purchased a clapper on a whim for my bedside lamp. The hilarity of the clapper stems from my roommate or friends, or anyone who knows I have it being able to turn my lights on and off from the other side of the door. We went into the bedroom and started to make whoopie but my headboard was placed a critical one eighth inch off the wall. Enter my trusty Clapper.The gentle oscillations of my bed matched the headboards resonant frequency which quickly overcame the one eighth inch boundary, and shortly thereafter a faint sound, not unlike the sound of clapping, came out of my bed and a rather comical disco-rodeo scene ensued as my new friend tried to run me out of tuna town.

On the fouth day it stopped working and a quick sniff (burnt electronics smell) was enough to tell me it will never work again. All of the negative reviews are spot on. The unit is rated at 200Watts per outlet. Bought this for Mom to turn a 40W lamp on. Couldn't get it to work by clapping but it worked with the remote for 4 days. 40Watts is well below its rating, it should not have burned out. It is now land fill.

After having the clapper for 33 days, it suddenly stopped working. I guess its an item that's only available around Christmas. I was so happy to find the Clapper Plus at Amazon after searching in all the local stores and being unable to locate one. All three of the lights stay on but the remote and clapping just don't seem to work. Anyhow, it worked great, with clapping and the remote. My husband and I were very happy to use it because our bedroom is very large and it is very inconvenient to have to get out of bed to turn off the lightswitch or the lamp. I can't send it back because I bought it more than 30 days ago, so I guess I'll be looking for something else to try. Don't waste your money.
